A very fine Gothic jewellery casket.

Gilt bronze and ebony with original key. Powerful but slight tracery and strap work, cast and cut to the highest standard. The interior is lined with deep blue velvet. Commemorative initials BAK and the date 1853-1878 in silver mount. Surmounted by a regal handle featuring a heraldic crown and a pair of panthers. Locking the casket, a stylised dragon crawls down the box, hinged at the neck, guarding the contents.
